TMVeganuary: A Month of Plant-Powered Community 🌱
Our TMVeganuary events have come to a close, and what a joyful, nourishing month it’s been. Led by Professor Leafybean (aka Finlay), TMVeganuary invited our community to explore compassionate living through food, learning, creativity, and connection.
[Group of 6 participants, smiling at the camera, thumbs up and one person with knitting on their lap, sitting around a large round table with vegan cookbooks, some hot drinks and the knitting human has a plate with a slice of choc cheesecake brownie! There are also pots of creamy almond butter samples on the table. On the wall behind there are many books on shelves, as well as much colourful decoration, including a fabric butterfly.]
Throughout January we shared practical vegan nutrition, including accessible talks on plant-based protein, budgeting, and everyday vegan living. From warming bowls of soup and sweet treats to freshly ground coffee, food was at the heart of our gatherings, bringing people together in a relaxed, welcoming space.
Highlights included our Round Table Discussions, where participants shared lived experiences of veganism in an open, friendly environment, and our Saturday sessions, featuring creative workshops (shout out to creatives Mandy & Rachel), hot vegan meals (shout out to Alex, Finlay, Andi & Liz TMV cooks), and Professor Leafybean’s “Veganism 101” talk uplifting the day with a super-creative super-nerd hero introduction to plant-based living in the medium of rap! …Offering nutritional insights and rhythmic encouragement for anyone taking plant-powered steps…! Vegan nutrition A-Z!!
[The round table is now covered in art supplies, phones and mugs that once had hot drinks in, before the participants became engrossed in the creative activity of creating vegan affirmation cards! Two cards are centred in the photo, reading “MEAT IS MURDER” and “PEACE LOVE VEGAN”]
[4 participants sat around the round table chatting jovially, with art materials, coffee cups and phones on the table. One particicpant is showing another a picture on their phone]
One of the most joyful parts of TMVeganuary was the introduction of Vegraduation a light-hearted but meaningful way to celebrate milestones along the vegan journey. Whether someone committed to a full Veganuary or simply took their first compassionate steps, every effort was honoured - with a special shout-out to Steve for vegraduating into 2026 with compassionate living as his north star 🌱🎓

TMVeganuary has been a powerful reminder of what’s possible when learning, food, and kindness come together. It’s been a month of shared meals, thoughtful questions, gentle encouragement, and plenty of laughter, and we’re so grateful to everyone who joined us along the way.
Whether you came for the nutrition tips, the community conversations, the creative workshops, or simply a warm bowl of soup, thank you for being part of it. Here’s to carrying the spirit of TMVeganuary forward - one compassionate choice at a time 🌿
