I have had such a wonderful year with TMV! Just such a beautiful community to be a part of, i've loved getting to know a lot of really wonderful people. I've really enjoyed getting the opportunity to cook for the free food fridays, and seeing people be nourished with the food I have made! For the first time actually feeling part of a collective movement of positivity with love and compassion at it's centre. Thank you everyone. Looking forward to 2026 with you!

I like that the whole project is community run, promotes healthy veganism, encourages like-minded individuals to come together to support each other and the wider community. It's ethical and discourages over-consumption. I enjoy volunteering as I like to give back to my local community in this lovely, ethically run project.MANDY
Thrivemind Village gave me that push to truly understand the world around me, through literature, art, creativity, and passion. Projects like these give the city soul, especially since Derby city has been having it's character chopped away for decades. And the kind of soul Thrivemind gave me was political education, activism, and tangible ways of revolutionising my life and how I act in it.CHENGO
I enjoy cooking and sharing food with others feeds my soul. I also want to learn how to cook different healthy, balanced, vegan & whole food meals. I believe Food is a way of connecting & sharing, We all have stories & emotions connected to food and people coming together to share food offers me the opportunity to share in these stories & grow connections with others.SABINE
DO YOU WANT TO BE PART OF THRIVEMIND VILLAGE?
Our volunteers are at the heart of our mission to support changemakers, strengthen communities, and build a healthier, more just, and regenerative future.
We welcome individuals who are genuinely passionate about making a difference and who share our commitment to social, health, food and environmental justice.
Volunteering here isn’t just about gaining experience, it’s about becoming an active part of a community dedicated to purposeful change.
Is TMV Right for You?
TMV is likely a good fit if you:
Care about community, solidarity & social justice
Are interested in more compassionate, ethical and eco ways of living
Like collaborative, co-designed, volunteer-led projects
Are open to learning, reflection and shared responsibility
Want to contribute ideas and help in ways that feel good and make a difference
TMV might not be the right fit if you:
Prefer highly structured, top-down volunteering
Need constant direction or close supervision
Are unable to commit reliably once you’ve agreed to something
Don’t feel aligned with what we’re about
There’s no judgement here — fit matters, and it goes both ways.
What Volunteering at TMV Is Like
TMV is:
Volunteer-led, not staff-led
Participatory not prescriptive
Values-driven, not output-driven
This means:
Everyone’s contribution matters
We share decision-making and responsibility
We communicate kindly, openly and honestly
We try to work in ways that are regenerative rather than extractive
We aim to move gently — and grow together.
Your TMV Volunteer Journey
1. Getting in touch
You reach out using the contact form on this page.
2. A friendly chat
We invite you in for an informal conversation to:
Meet some of the team
Hear the story of TMV
Share what draws you to the project and what you need
3. Induction & settling-in
If it feels right, you’ll be invited to an induction shift where:
We cover the basics (safety, wellbeing, communication)
You try out a role that feels good
You meet other volunteers who are there to support you
4. First month = a mutual trial
Your first few weeks are about seeing how it feels — for you and for us.
There’s no pressure to prove yourself.
5. Ongoing volunteering
If it’s a good fit, you can gradually get more involved at a pace that works for you.
Wellbeing, Boundaries & Care
We care about sustainability for everyone.
We aim to:
Respect rest and boundaries
Encourage honest communication
Be realistic about capacity
Create a supportive, non-judgemental culture
We ask volunteers to:
Be reliable when they’ve committed to something
Let us know if plans change
Treat others — and the space — with care and respect
It’s always okay to say:
“I need to pause or change how I’m involved.”
