COMMUNITY COLLABORATION WITH SURTAL ARTS

Artists from Surtal Arts took over the TMV community hub with tissue paper, willow withies and glue to grow a garden of big glowing flowers!
Fantastically artful families got busy, bending and shaping their creations until a magical moment occurred, when all the huge flowers stood up and we were suddenly micro humans in a garden!
The glowing eco-friendly lanterns were then carried triumphantly in the Derby Lantern Parade on 30th November to celebrate the Season of Light together!
TMV also hosted a beautiful lantern commissioned to Beth Gillespie, a talented local artist who created a lantern specifically telling the story of TMV’s journey! This was then part of the Lantern Trail organised by Surtal Arts. 

With huge gratitude, we want to thank Surtal Arts for making the darker, colder seasons at TMV so memorable and we can’t wait for more lovely creative stuff in the future!!
